Road from Beloretsk and Uchaly will be built to Mount Iremel

A road to Mount Iremel will be built from Uchaly and Beloretsk, Marat Khasanov, head of the Directorate for Specially Protected Natural Areas of the Republic of Bashkortostan, said following an interagency meeting.

According to him, two main directions of reconstruction and opening of road routes from Uchaly and Beloretsk are considered. In this regard, questions are being solved how this can be done within the framework of existing legislation and statutory norms for the activities of the Iremel Natural Park, as well as the Ural-Tau Wildlife Sanctuary.

“For example, the entrance to Iremel from Uchaly passes through the Ural-Tau Wildlife Sanctuary. The movement of vehicles is generally prohibited here. It is required to make changes to the provision of the natural park, the reserve, to examine if there are any other obstacles, and solve them within the framework of the law, ”said Marat Khasanov. “If from the side of the Chelyabinsk region, Tyulyuk there are convenient access roads for people to climb only 7 km to the top, then from Uchaly – there is a rough road of 20-30 km. It is a difficult route, even for physically prepared people. Duration, length of the route affects the quality of visual control over tourists and threatens their safety. Still, these are wild places. ”

As the head of the Directorate noted, tourism cannot be developed without good roads.

“If we build roads, I am sure it will attract business and increase the safety of citizens,” he added.

The issues on the construction of roads will be considered by the created working group, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Forestry RB, the State Committee RB for Tourism. It will take about a year to resolve all the coordination procedures.
