Center for cancer diagnosis will be created in Sterlitamak

A center for the cancer diagnosis will be created in the city of Sterlitamak. The Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and PET-Technology LLC signed an additional agreement on the implementation of the investment project “Creation of a positron emission tomography center with radiosurgery in the Republic of Bashkortostan,” the Ministry of Health of Bashkortostan reports.
Positron emission tomography (PET-CT) is an examination using high-precision equipment that detects an oncological or neuralgic disease, a study of the internal organs of a person using the radioisotope diagnostic method. In oncology, PET is used to diagnose malignant neoplasms, search for distant metastases, and treatment monitoring.
The opening of a PET/CT diagnostic center in Sterlitamak is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020. About three thousand residents of the republic will undergo an examination in this center annually.
The medical service of the PET/CT center in Sterlitamak will be provided in accordance with the State Guarantee Program for the free provision of medical care to citizens and Methodological recommendations on payment for medical care at the expense of compulsory medical insurance from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Federal Compulsory Health Insurance Fund.
