Meetings of HRC under Head of Bashkiria proposed to be held live

In Ufa, a meeting of the Human Rights Council (HRC) was held under the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Radiy Khabirov suggested holding meetings of the HRC live. It was also stated that the HRC would have its own office at 5/3 Lenina St., the ground floor.

Over the entire period of the HRC’s work, eight trips were made to the regions of the republic, several major events were visited, in particular, the meeting of depositors of the Gold Reserve, in which 450 people took part. The council received more than a thousand appeals from citizens; trips and trials were organized on them.

The next HRC meeting will be held in March next year.

The Council on Human Rights and the Development of Civil Society Institutions under the Head of Bashkortostan was created in September 2019. It included 36 people, one way or another defending the rights and interests of people - human rights activists, lawyers, scientists, public figures, environmentalists, journalists, representatives of the parent community, etc. Vladimir Barabash was appointed the Chairman of the Council, Vadim Belyakov became his deputy. The Executive Secretary of the Council was Zulfiya Gaysina. The Council is an advisory body; all its members work on a voluntary basis. General meetings of the Council should be held at least once every six months. At the end of the year, the Council will prepare and issue a report on the issues of ensuring and protecting the rights and freedoms of men and citizens, and the development of civil society institutions.
