City square will be designed in Ufa on "Urban Day"

On December 13, an Urban Day will be held at the Bashkiria Lifestyle Center. The Institute for the Development of Bashkortostan Cities will present a strategy for the public space development in the republic, as well as will hold a unique Urban Battle format - two teams will develop a project for Sovetskaya Square in Ufa.

On December 13, at 10.00, representatives of municipalities, ministry of housing and public utility services RB, administrations and urban experts will gather.

From 3.00 pm, an open urban lecture hall will be organized on the organization of modern playgrounds, the use of sea containers in construction, plants in the urban environment, as well as urban illumination (the speaker - Valerio Festi from Italy, decorating Ufa for the New Year).

“City Square. Reboot ” workshop will be held in the format of Urban Battle: two teams of social activists and journalists, led by experienced moderators, will develop the square project and will have to defend it before opponents and the public. The winners will be determined by a jury of experts and representatives of the Institute for the Development of Bashkortostan Cities.

“Currently, special attention is paid to the development of the urban environment. We understand that the projects implemented as part of the National project “Housing and Urban Environment” can become drivers for the development of each city. For this, it is necessary to determine priorities and develop a strategy for the development of public spaces in the Republic of Bashkortostan, ”said Olga Sarapulova, an adviser to Radiy Khabirov on the development of public spaces.
