In 2020, 6.1 billion rubles will be allocated in Bashkiria for the implementation of programs under the “Safe and High-Quality Roads” project. In 2019, 5 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for these purposes. It was announced by Timur Mukhametyanov, the Chairman of the Bashkir State Committee for Transport and Road Facilities, at public discussions on the results of the program, which took place at the Bashinform News Agency on November 15.
The funds will be used for major projects: for the development of the Ufa transport hub - this is the southern entrance to the city and the continuation of the bridge construction in the alignment of Vorovsky Street across the Belaya River.
In 2020, it is planned to begin the construction of a new bridge in the alignment of Internatsionalnaya Street across the Belaya River, which will allow redirecting transit flows from the federal highways M-5 and M-7. Shakshinsky and Zatonsky bridges will be closed for major repairs.
Also, next year in Sterlitamak, it is planned to begin reconstruction (construction) of the bridge across the Belaya River in the direction of the Sterlitamak-Kaga-Magnitogorsk road.
“In Bashkiria, all works related to the laying of hot asphalt concrete has been completed today. Barrier fences and road signs are being installed, thermal markings are being applied, and the territory is under accomplishment at 20 objects. It is planned to complete the works on November 30, ”said Timur Mukhametyanov.
In 2019, 388 km of roads were repaired under the “Safe and High-Quality Roads” project; in total, the road surface was updated at 1,200 kilometers.
Work continues on the roads of the Sterlitamak agglomeration; in 2019, 50 km were repaired with funds from the federal budget.
Timur Mukhametyanov noted a decrease in mortality in the amount of 18.8 percent compared to last year. According to him, this is one of the best indicators in Russia, however, "there is some work left to do in the future."
“The main element in reducing the accident rate this year is the modernization of the roadway: marking. This year, all roads of regional and inter-municipal significance were marked. Next year, the focus will be made on increasing cameras for photo and video surveillance. Starting this year, 59 cameras will be fully operational on federal roads, 62 devices will be installed in Ufa. In general, 1,000 cameras will operate on roads in Bashkiria until May 1, 2020, ” the chairman of the State Committee for Transport said.
