Direct flights may be resumed between Ufa and Prague
UFA, 12 November 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
There is an intention to resume direct flights between Ufa and Prague.
During the meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic Vitezslav Pivonka in the republican parliament, the initiative was proposed by Konstantin Tolkachev, Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of Bashkortostan.
“Previously, there was a direct flight from Ufa operated by the Czech side, but for several reasons it was canceled,” said Konstantin Tolkachev. “The flight was in demand. Many residents of our republic go to the Czech Republic to study, rest, and on business trips. The public reaction demonstrates the unpopularity of the decision to cancel the flight. Connecting flights, as well as the option of traveling to the Czech Republic by way of departure to the cities of other European countries located in relative proximity, are uncomfortable for most citizens. It seems appropriate to conduct bilateral negotiations on the possibility of resuming direct air links. A flight from Ufa to Prague would be preferable, but you can consider the possibility of air connections between Ufa and any other Czech city”.
Vitezslav Pivonka agreed with the relevance of the issue and expressed readiness to hold appropriate consultations with the Czech side after the visit to Bashkortostan.
