World-class research and educational center is created in Ufa

An expert session "Creating world-class research and educational center in the Republic of Bashkortostan - focusing on technological leadership" was held in Ufa. Earlier, the head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov instructed to begin work on the creation of the research and educational center "Digital technologies and new materials to increase the efficiency of production, transportation and deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials." The REC will facilitate the launch of new mechanisms for the internal cooperation of science, education, and business.
According to the press service of the government of the republic, about 80 people, including the chief of staff of the Head of Bashkortostan Alexander Sidyakin, Interim Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov, Interim Deputy Prime Minister Lenara Ivanova, representatives of republican executive bodies and development institutes, the Academy of Sciences RB, rectors of leading universities, innovative scientists, industrial partners of educational organizations, and business community representatives participated in the expert session.
A federal expert, Deputy Director of the Department of State Scientific, Scientific and Technical Policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education RF Alexei Semin also took part in it.
One of the main objectives of the REC is to commercialize regional research activities. During the discussions, participants noted that the REC would contribute to attracting additional resources to the economy: human resources, infrastructure, finance, as well as creating an ecosystem for research, company development, innovations to bridge the gap in the chain of an innovative product value creation.
Alexander Sidyakin proposed to consider the possibility of the Eurasian orientation of the REC. In the framework of the region’s active cooperation with the SCO and BRICS countries, export of education can become an essential component of the REC’s operation.
