Vladimir Barabash becomes chairman of Human Rights Council RB

The first meeting of Council for human rights and public society development RB is held in Ufa today. The Council was organized by Bashkiria’s Head’s decree at the beginning of September and new consultative board is called to assist to provision of human rights and liberties. In particular, the Council has to check facts of legislation breach and affront to civil liberties. Partially the council staff was formed due to public opinion. It consists of 36 persons, including the editor-in-chief of “Commersant-Ufa” Natalie Pavlova, coordinator of the movement on protection of voters’ rights in Bashkiria Renat Fakiev, political scientist Sergey Lavrentiev, the head of the movement “Public Control” Valerie Abbasov, blogger Vladimir Kobzev, Ufa resident Rustam Nabiev and others. Vladimir Barabash – director of the Fund on development of city projects- has become the chairman of the Council and lawyer and human rights advocate Zulfia Gaisina is appointed its secretary.
