UFA, 5 September 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In Ufa, “SoDeistvie” - regional social organization of parents of children with disabilities, launched the “Study Apartment” social project, where young people with mental and other developmental disabilities began to learn independent living skills. The order to organize such an apartment was given by Acting Head of Bashkortostan in November last year after meeting with parents of children with special needs. And today Radiy Khabirov visited the study apartment as part of his working trip over Ufa.
The chairman of the public organization Lyudmila Sakhapova told the head of the republic that so far the courses were five-day, in the future, young people would live and study in apartments for two weeks.
Children with Down syndrome will learn how to organize life according to the daily regimen (getting up, morning procedures, making breakfast, preparation “for work”). For them, tours and master classes will also be organized at enterprises that are partners of the project. Teachers of the public organization have extensive experience in such work. A psychologist, two social educators, a labor and career guidance teacher will also teach children how to cook meals, set up a table, clean up an apartment, make purchases in a store, and organize their leisure time.
According to Lyudmila Sakhapova, it is important that the family help to consolidate the acquired skills at home and next time to get other skills. Besides, as part of a social project, it is planned to organize courses for teenagers with disabilities: special courses for children from 14 years old. The first courses will be held in the afternoon, in the future – full-time 5-10 days.
Household appliances and furniture were purchased for the subsidy won by the organization in the framework of the social projects contest of Bashkortostan (1.1 million rubles). The remuneration of teachers will also be made at the expense of subsidies. Parents of children with disabilities helped with the purchase of kitchen utensils and bedding.
Radiy Khabirov, while talking with teachers, parents and children themselves, noted that comfortable conditions were created here and in his opinion, it should turn out to be a very good project.
