Free admission of children in Yandex. Lyceum is launched in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, admission procedure has started at Yandex. Lyceum. Education is free for children. The project is connected with the federal project “Personnel for the Digital Economy,” the State Committee for IT Development RB informed.

In Yandex. Lyceum, students of 8th and 9th grades are accepted. The training program is designed for two years.

In the first year of study, students learn Python, in the second - the basics of industrial programming and work on educational projects. Classes are taught by experienced teachers.

“This is a good start for students who are interested in modern technology, ”said Marina Suslova, head of Yandex. Lyceum.

In Sterlitamak and Ufa, Yandex. Lyceum is enrolling students for the second time. In 2019, Ishimbay and Neftekamsk also joined the project.

“In total, ten sites will operate in Bashkiria, six of which are new,” said Alevtina Dautova. “You can choose a convenient location on the website.”

It is important that as an experiment, distance education has been launched for some regions, including Bashkiria.

Classes will be taught according to the standard Yandex.Liceum program, but via Skype. Thus, in Bashkiria, it is planned to open distant groups at two sites - in Ufa and Ishimbay.

Students from the cities and regions of the republic with no full-time Yandex. Lyceum sites can be enrolled in distant-learning groups.

Yandex. Lyceum was created in 2016. In Bashkiria, it works with the support of the State Committee RB for IT Development and the Regional Ministry of Education.

This year Yandex. Lyceum is admitting schoolchildren at almost 300 sites in 131 cities of Russia and Kazakhstan. Compared with last year, the geography of the project has more than doubled.
