3rd building of Medical University opened after reconstruction in Ufa

The 3rd building of Bashkir Medical University (BSMU) opened in Ufa after reconstruction. The renovated building houses the Institute of Public Health and Healthcare Organization, which bears the name of one of the first Bashkir surgeons Imam-Gali Kadyrov. Also, a bust monument to the prominent organizer of the republican health care system appeared on the university campus.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Oleg Salagay, Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB Konstantin Tolkachev, Interim Minister of Health RB Maxim Zabelin and other guests of honor.

“This building was built before the revolution. In 1932 the building welcomed the first students of the medical institute,” said the BSMU rector Valentin Pavlov. “During the Second World War, the evacuation hospital, the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the department of the healthcare organization of the Sechenov University were located within its walls. ”

The historical building was restored according to old drawings. In the updated building, students and residents will be trained using the most modern IT and digital technologies. According to Valentin Pavlov, the reconstruction of other buildings and the renewal of the entire university campus are expected in the coming years.

Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Oleg Salagay gave the first lecture for residents on the organization of health care and public health in the new building.
