Bashkir State University welcomed participants of 12th All-Russian Mechanics Congress

On August 24, the 12th All-Russian Congress on Fundamental Problems of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics ended in Ufa. For four days since August 20, symposiums and meetings of the congress sub-sections were held at Bashkir State University.
More than 1,500 major scientists from all regions of the Russian Federation and CIS entities, including leading representatives of engineering and technology from the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Serbia, Belgium, and other countries, gathered in the capital of Bashkortostan to exchange their experiences and discoveries. Presentations were made on the problems of fracture and damage mechanics, the interaction of liquid and gaseous bodies, discussions of the theory of elasticity and viscoelasticity, contact interaction, discussions at poster presentations and tours of the city and museums of the Bashkir capital.
The grand opening of the forum took place in the Toratau Congress Hall. There was also a large exhibition dedicated to scientific projects and achievements of Bashkir State University as the main university of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the main venue of the congress.
Total, the Toratau exposition presented five unique scientific exhibits of Bashkir State University, which were examined among the other guests of the congress – by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Scientific and Educational Policy Denis Sekirinsky, Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Lenara Ivanova, head of the Development Corporation RB Rail Sarbaev, rectors of Ufa universities, Russian scientists and representatives of the engineering industry.
On the second day of the forum, August 21, the director of the Department of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Information Technology of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Yuri Tyulenev, visited the exhibition with innovative developments by scientific teams of Bashkir State University. He was particularly interested in biodegradable polymer composites from recycled polymer raw materials and the production of plastic products based on them.
