Scientists from Ufa will examine unknown microorganisms that penetrate the minerals in the Crimean cave "Tavrida". A group of microbiologists and mineralogists will go to the peninsula this weekend.
“Reagents that are expensive enough are taken to conserve microorganisms on the spot and not to lose anything,” Gennady Samokhin, chairman of the Russian Speleological Union, explained to RIA News Crimea.
According to experts, microorganisms look like mold. Under a microscope, scientists examined microbial mats. Presumably, microorganisms can be very ancient.
