Bashkiria will provide cardiac patients with free drugs

UFA, 20 August 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In Bashkiria, patients with a specific category of cardiovascular diseases will be able to receive medications at the expense of the budget of the republic during the year, the regional Ministry of Health informs.
By decision of the Acting Head of the Republic, amendments were made to the provision of social support measures at the expense of the budget to certain groups and categories of citizens in terms of providing medicines and medical supplies for the provision of outpatient care.
The list of categories of diseases includes coronary heart disease and cerebral infarction. Previously, drugs were provided only to citizens with coronary heart disease and for a period of 6 months.
As Bashinform News Agency reported earlier, 185 million rubles will be required for these purposes.
Currently, more than 10.5 thousand patients with similar diagnoses live in Bashkortostan. The cost of treating such patients ranges from 4,700 to 33,000 rubles per year.
An increase in the period of budget support will allow a number of categories of citizens to save financial resources for treatment, and the state to reduce the mortality from cardiovascular diseases, experts say. Implementation of the resolution is scheduled for January 1, 2020.
