Monument to Chernobyl disaster liquidators was erected in Ufa

Today, August 14, in Ufa, in the Public Garden of the 50th anniversary of the Victory, a monument was erected to the heroes-liquidators of the Chernobyl and other radiation disasters.
The initiator of the monument installation is the local public organization of the disabled “Chernobyl Union”, which defends the interests and rights of Chernobyl victims. The patron Artur Khazigaleev provided great help in the creation and installation of the monument. The sculpture is made of bronze, the author is the Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Khanif Khabibrakhmanov.
The stone composition symbolizes memory and respect for the feat of the Bashkortostan residents - liquidators of the consequences of radiation accidents. More than 10 thousand people from our republic took part in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident.
The president of the All-Russian Union of Public Associations "Union" Chernobyl of Russia" Vyacheslav Grishin arrived from Moscow to open the monument.
Also today, in the Toratau Congress Hall, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection RB organized a round table on the topic of social support to the liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster and their families in terms of medical support and services. In particular, it was about sanatorium-resort treatment, benefits, and payments to citizens and liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, problems of interaction of this category of citizens with authorities.
Today, at the House of the Republic the Acting Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov met with the President of the All-Russian Union of Public Associations "Chernobyl Union of Russia" Vyacheslav Grishin. This was reported on the website of the head of the republic.
