Life expectancy should reach 80 years in Bashkiria

UFA, 8 August 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
By 2030, life expectancy in Russia should reach 80 years, and for national projects - up to 78 years by 2024. President Vladimir Putin signed such an order. Bashkiria should increase this indicator by 40 times to reach this target. This was announced at the "Healthcare Hour " session by the Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Lenara Ivanova.
Most often, people in Bashkiria die from diseases of the circulatory system (44.5%), followed by other diseases (20.5%), neoplasms (14.6%), external causes (8.3%), respiratory diseases (5.5%), diseases of digestive organs (4.8%), infectious and parasitic diseases (1.8%). Moreover, only 15% of diseases depend on the genome, and 85% on environmental factors, statisticians from the Russian Ministry of Health inform. Most of all, the environment affects the state of health (25%), and the rest depends on the people. Based on this, Lenara Ivanova proposed combating factors that reduce life expectancy.
Among them, the Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan primarily marked smoking, alcohol, low physical activity, unhealthy diet, and stress. All this occupies 44% of the risk factors for human health.
“In recent years, the republic has seen a downward trend in smoking: the share of tobacco lovers has dropped from 45% to 42%", noted Lenara Ivanova.
In the light of this, the Interim Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the importance of corporate programs in the fight against smoking, campaigns focusing on a youth audience.
Besides, alcohol abuse affects the statistics of homicides, suicides, traffic accidents. This risk factor directly affects the state of human health. Alcoholic beverages involve economic losses for employers and the country - these are accidents at the workplace, absenteeism, a decrease in labor productivity, and an increase in medical expenses. In Bashkiria, significant steps have already been taken in the fight against alcohol consumption: a legislative initiative to limit the sale of alcoholic beverages after 10 p.m. and on holidays, an anti-alcohol campaign, and public initiatives.
Regarding stresses, Lenara Ivanova proposed to use psychological services and continuous professional development of specialists.
