I-Volga participant: we help nursing premature babies with won grant

UFA, 6 August 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
According to the results of the Youth Forum of the Volga Federal District iVolga-2.0, representatives of Bashkortostan won eight grants to support their projects in various fields - science and education, robotics, and medicine. Aigul Nurieva, a graduate of Bashkir State Medical University, together with her colleagues at maternity hospitals, helps mothers to care for premature babies while providing psychological support to parents.
“According to the World Health Organization, about 10 percent of babies are born prematurely. In the republican perinatal center, a thousand of these babies are born annually. In Bashkortostan, babies with extremely low body weight (from 500 grams) have been nursed since 2012, so there is very little competent information on the Internet or other sources of knowledge. Together with neonatologists, psychologists, we tell parents about how to nurse the baby, ”says Aigul.
According to her, for the won grant, which is 290 thousand rubles, she will conduct training for volunteers, purchase massagers, balls, and audio equipment for conducting music therapy. Now the guys are starting to work in the Ufa maternity hospital №4. The Aigul’s team consists of 40 people who, at the call of their heart, chose their mission to save the lives of small patients. Now Aigul plans to expand her project and continue her studies in residency in the field of pediatric neurology.
This year, “iVolga 2.0” entered the international level, having brought together representatives of ten neighboring countries. Forum experts note the high level of submitted projects. The plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov also got acquainted with the ideas of innovators, under whose patronage the youth forum was taking place.
