Where and how Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in Ufa

Eid al-Adha – is the main and most recognizable event in the Islamic calendar. It is celebrated in honor of the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) 70 days after another big Islamic event, Eid al-Fitr.

In 2019, the holiday falls on August 11th. Due to the fact that the holiday falls on Sunday, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Monday - August 12 is also declared a non-working holiday.

According to the mayor's office, it is planned to organize two special venues in Ufa for holding religious ceremonies during the celebration of Eid al-Adha - in front of the "Karavan" shopping mall (Prigorodnaya Street, 55), which is located in close proximity to the village of Zinino, as well as at the Northern bus station in Ordzhonikidze district.

After the end of the festive sermon, a Kurban Halal Fest event will be organized in the territory of the Vatan Ethnic-Park and the square in front of the Bashkiria lifestyle center. The program of the festival includes a variety of events - sports competitions in koresh national wrestling, a gala concert and pilaf treats.
