Demographic decline in Bashkiria - 19.6 thousand children were born in region year to date

The main demography indicators in the republic in the first half of 2019 were announced at the extended meeting of the board of the Ministry of Health of Bashkortostan.

According to the ministry, over the six months of this year, the region has seen a decline in the birth rate, the natural decline in the population was 4808 people. Since the beginning of the year, 19,622 children were born in Bashkiria, which is 3,540 children less than for the same period of the last year.

During this period, 24,430 people died. Last year, that number was more by 1,548 people. In the structure of total mortality, still, the leading place is occupied by diseases of the circulatory system. There is a decrease in mortality from malignant neoplasms. To reduce mortality rates in the republic, regional vascular centers and primary vascular departments are being reequipped, measures are being taken to detect oncological diseases in the early stages - these are examination rooms, fluorography, various types of medical examinations, incentive payments for oncology awareness in the amount of 5,000 rubles for one detected case at an early stage.
