Ufa native Oleg Chegodaev became first person to ascend all thousander peaks of South Urals

“I completed the project #thousanderssouthural. It looks like I became the first person to climb all 255+ peaks above one thousand meters in the Southern Urals. It took me more than 20 years”, the traveler wrote on his page on the social network.

Oleg Chegodaev spent six days on the last 270 km of his extreme expedition, which lasted for as long as 20 years. He started his journey on July 6, on the eve of his 35th birthday.

“6 days, 270 kilometers of mountains, forest roads of various terrain, windbreaks, rocks, swamps and grass hiding you with your head, grass that forces you to swim in it and sucking power. The Southern Urals are unfriendly in the middle of summer, it was probably the most difficult and traumatic route in my 35-year history, everything I love. Soon I will upload photos with sunrises and sunsets, flowers, bears, unknown waterfalls and column peaks,” he promised to his followers.
