In Ufa 60-year-old man was transplanted heart that he had been waiting for two years

The Republican Cardiology Center conducted the 22nd heart transplant operation for the current year. The owner of the new heart was a 60-year-old resident of Bashkiria. Doctors gave Marat a second life after a two-year wait.

In 2014, after a survey, doctors found that his vital organ was enlarged. The patient was registered and followed-up. In 2017, he was put on a waiting list, and two years later he started to have shortness of breath, it became difficult for him to walk and even lie down.

Marat was hospitalized and a week later he was offered an organ transplant. The surgical process lasted five hours. Now the man feels quite good and is preparing for discharge.

“I cannot sit at home without work. I will definitely return to my team, and besides, I will go fishing. Specialists of the Republican Cardiology Center gave me a full life. I am very grateful to them. I have no feeling that this heart is not mine. It seems like it wasn’t replaced", smiles the owner of a new heart.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the 54-year-old woman was the last patient who had a heart transplant at the Republican Cardiology Center.
