The allowance for children from 18 months to three years age in low-income families will be increased from January 1, 2020. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Government to issue the appropriate payments within three months, Izvestia reports with reference to the Kremlin’s press service. The list of instructions of the head of state following the “Direct Line” states that monthly payments to citizens who are on maternity leave during the specified period should correspond to the subsistence minimum for children of a particular subject of the Russian Federation. Allowance for the first and second child will be received by families whose income is under two living wages per person instead of one and a half, as established now.
On June 20, in the course of the “Direct Line”, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that starting next year, families with the income indicated above will start receiving payments for a child in the amount of 10-11 thousand rubles instead of the current 50 rubles. According to the head of state, 70% of families will fall under it.
