Bashkiria claims to create one of 15 federal research and educational centers

Bashkiria plans to get into the second bid stage for the creation in the republic one of 15 world-class scientific and educational centers within the framework of national projects. At a briefing session in the Government RB the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov said that he had raised that issue at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow the day before. The regions that started first had already received support from the federal center.

Recall that in May, speaking at the board of the Federal Ministry of Energy, the head of the republic said that Bashkiria had proposed to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia to create a world-class scientific and educational center based on one of the leading industry universities in the country - Ufa State Petroleum Technological University. The main goal of creating a scientific center is to develop digital, smart technologies, and robotic systems aimed at improving the efficiency of production, transport, and deep processing of oil.

Radiy Khabirov also spoke about the prospect of conferring the status of a federal university to one of the Bashkir universities discussed with Dmitry Medvedev. The head of the Russian Government supported this initiative and offered to elaborate it with the relevant ministry.
