5th World Bashkir Kurultay began its work in Ufa

The 5th World Bashkir Kurultay, a congress of representatives of the Bashkir people from all over the world, began its work in Ufa, at the “Toratau” Congress Hall. The historic national forum has been held since 1995 to unite, develop the ethnic culture of the Bashkir people, and preserve national identity. The event is organized by the International Union of Public Associations "World Kurultay (Congress) of Bashkirs" with the support of the Government of Bashkortostan.

More than 600 delegates elected by the people participate in the 5th Kurultay. Almost half of them live in the republic, 157 came from subjects of the Russian Federation. Fifty representatives of the Bashkir people arrived in their historical homeland from 26 countries - the USA, Switzerland, Holland, Monaco, Israel, Latvia and others.

The main issue on the agenda of the Congress is the approval of the concept of the Development Strategy of the Bashkir people, as well as the ways to achieve it. One can offer suggestions to the document on the Strategy website. Also, it is planned to assess the current situation in the main areas of Bashkir life and formulate proposals for the implementation of specific projects and programs.

Radiy Khabirov, the Head of Bashkortostan, also takes part in the event. The deputy head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations Magomedsalam Magomedov, members of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Liliya Gumerova and Irek Yalalov were invited as guests.
