Bashkiria resident has returned from Thailand holiday with Dengue fever

Last week, 583 cases of Dengue fever were registered with holidaymakers in Thailand, one of which was recorded in Sterlitamak, according to the website of the city hospital No.3.

According to the medical institution, the city dweller consulted a doctor at the place of residence and was hospitalized. The woman was taken to an infectious disease hospital in the city, where a laboratory diagnosis of dengue fever was made.

The main vector of dengue fever is mosquitoes. Humans are infected through insect bites.

Signs of dengue fever: chills, fever up to 40-41 degrees, headache, pain in joints and muscles, photophobia, swollen lymph nodes, rash.

Complications: toxic shock, encephalitis, meningitis, psychosis, pneumonia.

“The diagnosis is made only by the laboratory. If there are clinical indications, you should immediately consult a doctor, ” the Sterlitamak hospital informs.
