Separation of milk and its substitutes in stores will help customers make choice - expert

The separation of shelf spaces for milk and dairy products in stores, introduced from July 1, 2019, is aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of food products, commented on Svetlana Divnich, Project Manager of the “Product of Bashkortostan”, to the Bashinform News Agency.

“Thus it will be easier for buyers to choose milk and not make mistakes”, she added. “Milk producers occupy a worthy place among the republican producers of food products that are entitled to be labeled with the sign “Product of Bashkortostan”. 39 enterprises, peasant farms, individual entrepreneurs today produce dairy products that comply with the current legislation in the field of quality and safety. ”

Currently, 416 local enterprises participate in the “Product of Bashkortostan” project, aimed at promoting products of republican manufacturers in the domestic and foreign markets. More than 12 thousand products, including dairy products, are marked with the sign “Product of Bashkortostan”.

As reported by Bashinform News Agency, from July 1, 2019, milk and dairy products should be placed separately from products with milk fat substitutes and accompanied by the inscription that they do not contain it. Rospotrebnadzor, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, developed guidelines on how to display dairy, dairy products, and milk-containing products on the selling space.

In particular, the display is proposed using dividers, with the additional design of price tags or product shelves.

The day before the Acting Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov urged residents of the republic to report on stores that sell fake milk on their shelves.
