Contemporary Art Center to appear in Ufa

Creation of a Center for Contemporary Art in Ufa was discussed at Investment Hour in the Government RB.
The activity of the center should become a new direction of the museum-exposition work in the republic. It is supposed that the museum will exhibit works of the world network of modern art museums, promote and popularize works by Bashkir artists, form and store their collections.
According to the Minister of Culture RB Amina Shafikova, the project is relevant both for the creative community and for the residents of the city.
“Today, most of works by contemporary artists are kept in the workshops, about 20% of the collections are exhibited,” the minister noted. “The new museum will definitely be in demand.”
The planned area of the museum is about 10 thousand square meters. The appearance and layout of the building will be determined through international competition.
The Acting Head of the region, Radiy Khabirov drew attention to the fact that the building should have its own style, be distinguished by its modernity and at the same time fit naturally into the architectural appearance of the city.
