Construction of Republican Cardiology Center's surgical building begins in July

On July 4, construction of the new surgical building of the Republican Cardiology Center will begin. The Interim Chairman of the State Committee for Construction and Architecture Marat Akhmadullin told this at a visiting meeting in the “Healthcare Hour” format, which was held today at the Republican Cardiology Center. The total cost of the medical facility reconstruction, together with the construction of the six-story surgical building, is estimated at 6 billion rubles. The Interim Minister of Health of Bashkortostan Maxim Zabelin explained to the Bashinform News Agency that the republican budget allocated the funds for construction. Bashkortostan requested 2.5 billion rubles from the federal center for the reconstruction of the medical institution, but for various reasons, the issue had not yet been resolved. The construction of the surgical building will be completed in two years and will cost 2.62 billion rubles under the terms of the contract.

“It will be a modern complex with a diagnostic center. There will be comfortable double rooms for patients. Modern medical equipment will be installed, which will increase the number of operations for residents of the republic and its neighboring regions, who seek to get treatment in our cardiology center. After the construction of the surgical building, the reconstruction of the first three floors of the existing building will begin, ”explained Maxim Zabelin.

It will also include a sports ground, a new modern conference hall, play areas and recreation areas for young hospital patients.

“The facility is essential and technologically demanding, all works must be carried out within the specified deadline. We will expect its launching in the summer of 2021”, said the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.

In the next six years, Bashkortostan will receive 16.5 billion rubles from the federal budget as part of the national Healthcare project. These funds will be directed to fight against heart attack and cancer, to new children's clinics and rural health stations. The republic will receive 4.9 billion rubles of this amount in the current year. Of these, 666 million rubles will be spent on re-equipment of medical oncology organizations. In 2020, these costs will exceed one billion rubles. In Ufa, a new surgical building of the oncology center will be completed and put into operation. The district hospitals will open their oncology departments. 500 million rubles will be spent on the construction of new medical institutions, and 296 million rubles children's clinics' facilities improvement. Another 260 million will be directed to rural health stations and mobile medical complexes.

The national project "Healthcare" is implemented in the period from 2019 to 2024 by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The project envisages eight areas of health care development, including improvement of primary health care, cardiovascular and cancer care, children medical care development, medical specialists training, health care digitalization, national medical centers and medical tourism development, as well as an increase of life expectancy up to 78 years by 2024.
