Russia may be excluded from participation in Olympic Games 2020 because of Bashkiria’s athlete

UFA, 3 June 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
Russia may be excluded from participation in the Olympics 2020 due to a case against an athlete from Bashkiria, high jumper Danil Lysenko, according to The Sunday Times.
Danil Lysenko missed several doping tests last year, having provided fake documents that he was sick and could not attend the checks. Based on this, The Sunday Times claims that the Russian national team may be excluded from participation in the 2020 Olympics due to the fact that the leadership of the All-Russian Athletics Federation was aware of the fake documentation submission by an athlete who could conceal doping violations on his part. It is believed that the Russian athlete is one of the contenders for winning the gold medal of the Games in Tokyo.
Danil Lysenko is a 22-year-old Russian athlete in the high jump. He is an indoor world champion 2018, prize-winner of the world championship 2017, indoor champion of Russia 2017, champion of Russia 2018, international master of sport.
