Eight thousand people leave Bashkiria every year

Eight thousand people leave Bashkiria annually. The data for 2017-2018 were presented by scientists of the Institute for Strategic Studies.

The main factors contributing to the outflow of the working-age population from the territories of their residence are limited opportunities. Scientists identify three major and three additional factors.

First of all, it is the realization of labor potential (problems in the field of employment, the labor market, lack jobs, low wages, limited prospects for professional self-realization; limited business development).

Secondly, people leave to receive high-quality educational services, including in the areas of secondary and higher professional education. As a rule, they do not return to the homeland after completing their studies.

Besides people leave to improve their living conditions, compare real estate prices in Bashkiria and other regions.

Scientists also record factors that depend on the personal assessment of the person leaving and his/her immediate environment: a low level of development of the social sphere, limited opportunities for obtaining high-quality social services, including in the areas of health care; social and consumer services, low wages and purchasing power, cash incomes of the working population, as well as a low level of attractiveness of the region to meet the needs in the culture and leisure areas.
