Radiy Khabirov: “Overall mortality decrease in Bashkiria is quite positive signal”

In Bashkiria, the total mortality rate decreased by 0.5% from 16,957 (12.9%) to 16,366 people (12.4%) in the first quarter of 2019. As noted by the Interim Minister of Health of the Republic Maxim Zabelin, doctors and other specialized experts managed to save about 600 lives.

"This is quite a positive signal", Radiy Khabirov, the Acting Head of Bashkiria, explained.

Maxim Zabelin noted that these were the first results of the instructions of the head of the region.

“I think that this will go incrementally in the future”, observed the head of the republican Ministry of Health. “The chief doctors of medical institutions understand that the effectiveness of their work depends on these indicators.”

The Acting Head of Bashkortostan stressed that it was necessary to focus on the indicators that are outlined in the profile of the national project "Demography". By 2024, the number of saved lives should be about 130 thousand. Radiy Khabirov marked that the authorities in this matter had "still open field for work".

As the Bashinform News Agency previously reported, infant mortality has increased in the region - 6.6 children per 1000 births. The greatest growth is observed in Bizhbulyak and Ermekeyevo districts, Sibay, Zianchurino and Arkhangelskoe districts. Such cases are not registered in 24 districts of the region and four cities: Agidel, Oktyabrsky, Salavat and Mezhgorye.
