More than 2 million trees were planted during month in Bashkiria

During the forest regeneration month, over 2 million young trees were planted on an area of 600 hectares in Bashkiria. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic Marat Sharafutdinov said at the weekly briefing session in the government that the most large-scale event was the republican campaign "Green Bashkiria" held on April 27 under the slogan "Plant a Tree - Give Life!" On this day, about 1.5 million trees were planted on an area of 400 hectares, including 270 hectares of new forest crops. In settlements, 164 thematic alleys were laid out. There were also other campaigns, in which more than 150 thousand people took part.

“A lot of thematic alleys appeared. It is fine. Please start preparing now for the “Green Bashkiria” campaign of the next year. In the autumn, a campaign should take place in cities and district centers dedicated to the planting of large trees and the formation of new alleys. The Russian language is rich, think over the names of the alleys.” “We have a potential to live in the cities full of green plantings and trees, ”said Radiy Khabirov.

The Minister of Forestry noted that within the month, young forests were planted on an area of 5.2 thousand hectares, more than 20 million young seedlings were planted.

“Reforestation works are continuing in the republic. To date, 70 percent of the planned volume of forest planting for this year has been completed. In total, reforestation is planned on an area of 7.3 thousand hectares”, explained Marat Sharafutdinov.
