Heart surgeons performed unique heart surgery in newborn baby in Bashkiria

At the Republican Cardiology Center, doctors performed a unique heart operation in a 9-day-old baby. According to the Bashkortostan State TV and Radio Company, the girl with a rare form of heart disease weighed a little more than two kilograms. It took a surgical intervention to save the baby.

It is noted that for the year the medical institution took 20 thousand patients of different ages. Adult patients undergo a procedure for cryoablation of the heart - the tissues are internally cooled to -60 degrees. After a few hours, the patient will recover and, with a high probability, can permanently get rid of arrhythmias.

“We had a breakthrough. A large number of these operations have been done - more than 100 per year. This is practically a new technology. We perform it within a 40-minute period. 2-3 years ago, our patients had to apply to the federal center, ”said Ildus Sagitov, head of the surgery department at the Republican Cardiology Center.

According to the TV channel, today in Bashkiria almost all types of care that only exist in cardiac surgery is provided. Every year, doctors master at least 20 new methods of treating heart diseases. About 95% of all operations are carried out using high technology.
