350 million rubles are needed to equip Bashkiria with waste containers sites

350 million rubles are needed to equip Bashkortostan with waste containers site, the Deputy Minister of Ecology Niyaz Fazylov said at a briefing session in the Government RB. Municipalities are obliged to establish containers in the settlements of the region.

Currently, 14,409 municipal solid waste disposal sites have been arranged in the republic, and 30,366 containers have been installed. In total, Bashkiria needs to equip 13,116 sites and install 23,127 containers on them. The cost of one container site for two containers varies from 45 to 70 thousand rubles.

Their acquisition and arrangement are carried out at the expense of the municipal budget. The Ministry of Environment of the Republic receives appeals from the municipalities about the possible financing of these activities through inter-budgetary transfers. The Ministry has developed amendments to the Decree No. 67 of the Government RB on expanding the direction of expenditures, including the construction of waste container sites.

“If changes are adopted, municipalities will be able to use these funds for arranging container sites. 350 million rubles will be needed to meet the need for arranging the places of solid municipal waste accumulation,” the deputy minister added.
