Writer Dmitry Bykov is connected to lung ventilation apparatus

The writer Dmitry Bykov is connected to an artificial lung ventilation apparatus. It is reported by the "Kommersant. Bashkortostan" publication with reference to its media sources. The writer was hospitalized to the intensive care unit of City Clinical Hospital No.22 on April 16.
According to the source, Dmitry Bykov has fallen into a coma; he is on artificial lung ventilation. Doctors think that he has an ischemic stroke and assess his condition as serious.
Dmitry Bykov was supposed to give a lecture “Russian anecdote as a literary genre” in Ufa within the framework of the “Direct Speech” lecture sessions. However, a few hours before the start the lecture was postponed due to the writer's poor state of health.
According to the Mediakorset publication, the writer Dmitry Bykov was taken to the hospital directly from the aircraft.
Yesterday, on April 16, a passenger born in 1967 was hospitalized from a UTair UT-105 “Yekaterinburg-Ufa” flight (aircraft ATR-72) for medical reasons.
“At the time of hospitalization, the passenger was conscious. At 13.40 local time, the ambulance crew delivered him at the City Clinical Hospital No.22”, the press service of the Ufa airport told the publication.
All subsequent lectures, which were planned in Moscow, Tallinn, and Riga, are postponed indefinitely, according to information from the official social media of Dmitry Bykov.
