Radiy Khabirov regarding demographics in region: We should understand reasons for what is happening

“The birth rate in the republic is falling. Only in 2018, we had by 13,000 children less than five years ago, in 2014. That is actually a whole settlement has ceased to exist”. The Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov said that at a meeting in the House of the Republic on the issues of the demographic situation in the region.

The meeting was attended by members of the Government RB, heads of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of medical organizations and the scientific community. Among them, there was the head of the sector of theoretical problems of reproduction and population policy at M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Vladimir Arkhangelsky.

“President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin treats this issue as a priority. The fall in the birth rate is typical for the country as a whole, but there are several regions where a positive situation is observed. Today we should try to understand the reasons for what is happening, to analyze our prospects. Of course, we cannot put up with this, and we need to take serious measures to stop this negative trend and turn the situation in the right direction, ”said Radiy Khabirov.

The meeting participants discussed measures aimed at increasing the birth rate and, in general, improving the demographic situation in the region, the press service of the head of the republic reported.
