Granting maternity capital for first child may be started in Russia

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova did not rule out an introduction of additional measures to stimulate the birth rate in the country, reports RIA Novosti.

According to Tatyana Golikova, the need for such measures is obvious.

On the TV channel "Russia-1" she recalled that currently there were three types of federal financial support for families with children. Among them, there are payments for the first child, payment for the second child through maternity capital and payments for the third and subsequent children.

Answering the question of the host about whether it is possible to stimulate women to give birth to children granting maternity capital after the birth of their first child, Golikova noted that “such options are also being discussed.”

As previously reported by Bashinform News Agency, the amount of maternity capital will increase to 489 thousand rubles by 2021.

Today, the size of the capital in the country is 453 thousand rubles.

In 2019, the size of this payment will not change and will amount to 453 thousand rubles. In 2020, it will increase to 470 thousand rubles, it will reach 489 thousand rubles in 2021.

In 2019, funds in the amount of 325.6 billion rubles are allocated for maternity capital, in the next two years - 337 and 347.5 billion rubles, respectively.
