Modern equipment for cataract treatment appeared in Sibay hospital

Residents of Trans-Urals can now receive ophthalmological medical care without visiting the eye clinics of Ufa. An ophthalmologic microsurgical unit, a phacoemulsifier designed to perform high-tech cataract surgeries, began operating in the Sibay Central City Hospital.

A visiting team of doctors from the Ufa Research Eye Diseases Institute visited the city for training a new technique - seamless phacoemulsification. The technique allows to operate without a seam, implant the lens through a small incision. The very next day, patients receive high visual acuity and, as a rule, are satisfied with the result. Last week alone, 120 patients were operated on for cataract in the ophthalmology department.
