Total area of illegal dumps exceeds 2.3 thousand hectares in Bashkiria

The Ministry of Ecology of Bashkortostan has calculated the number of places in the region where garbage is illegally dumped. As of January 1, 2019, 2932 unauthorized landfills were registered, the total area of which is 2301 hectares, the Deputy Minister of Ecology Niyaz Fazylov reports.

The heads of administrations of districts and cities are instructed to eliminate unauthorized dumps in the territory of municipalities to until December 23, 2019. The "road maps" for their liquidation are formed.

As the agency reported earlier, as of October last year, there were 2,810 illegal dumps in Bashkiria. In the general rating of the regions of Russia, the republic is an outsider in terms of the effectiveness of the unauthorized landfills elimination - it takes 68th place.
