Solemn function in honor of International Women's Day took place in Ufa

A solemn function in honor of the International Women's Day was held in the Ufa Congress Hall "Toratau" on March 4.

It was attended by women - honored doctors, teachers, scientists, cultural and sports figures, entrepreneurs, representatives of the leading enterprises of the region, public organizations, volunteers.

“Thanks to our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, every time we become a little better. Please accept our heartfelt, deep respect for you, the most genuine men’s love. We want you to be happy, to love, and be loved. And we will try to meet all your ideas and expectations, ”said the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov.

According to Bashkir Statistics Agency, working women of Bashkortostan make up almost half of the republic’s labor resources - 47% of those employed in the regional economy. The average age of a working woman is 40 years. Among them, the share of those with higher education was almost 36% (men - 23%), secondary vocational education - 49% (men - 58%). Women are involved in almost all economic activities.

In 2018, 2.2 million women lived in the republic - 53% of the total population. Total, 4 million 51 thousand people live in the region.
