Rosprirodnadzor: to flood Sibay quarry is only correct solution

On February 27, specialists from Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage) arrived in Sibay. The head of the department, Svetlana Radionova, along with other employees of the federal service, visited a quarry, met with representatives of the Uchalinsky Mining Plant, local authorities and Rostekhnadzor colleagues.

“Today, partial flooding of the bottom of the quarry, which was proposed by the scientific community, and silting is the only correct solution to eliminate the existing problem; there is no other solution. Specialists of the Rosprirodnadzor will monitor this process until the situation is fully normalized and the city has a normal environment and atmospheric air”, “Sibaysky Rabochi” quotes Radionova.

The head of Rosprirodnadzor thanked the activists of the Sibay environmental movement and noted that no one was going to conceal the information.

“This situation should not be repeated. People should live in comfortable conditions, ”said Svetlana Radionova.
