USPTU and Mining University of Leoben (Austria) reached new stage of cooperation

The delegation of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU) including the Rector Professor R.N. Bakhtizin, head of the department "Oil and Gas Transport and Storage" Professor B.N. Mastobaev and a staff member of the department A.V. Kolchin visited the Mining University of Leoben (Austria) to discuss the achieved results on joint educational and scientific projects, as well as to establish new tasks for the current year.

The main purpose of the visit was a ceremonial opening of the joint international educational program of two diplomas (master's level) “Oil and Gas Business. Hydrocarbons Pipeline Transport”.

During the visit, the USPTU delegation held a presentation of the educational complex of the Republic of Bashkortostan for students of the University of Leoben. The presentation aroused great interest regarding an opportunity for Austrian students to participate in both the academic mobility program for one semester and the double degree program.

During a meeting with the rector of the Mining University of Leoben, honorary professor of USPTU, Wilfred Eichlseder, an agreement was reached on his visit to Ufa to participate in the work of the Thesis Board. During the visit of the delegation, it is planned to give open lectures by Prof. Wilfred Eichlseder and Prof. Herbert Hofstaetter.

The parties also agreed on joint participation of universities in the competition in the framework of the Russian-Austrian scientific and educational programs for obtaining grants.

The joint activity of the two universities is a contribution to the cultural interaction between Russia and Austria during the Year of Russian-Austrian Youth Exchange 2019.
