Long-term care system will be implemented throughout Russia by 2022

UFA, 18 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The long-term care technologies tested in pilot regions will be distributed throughout Russia by 2022. This was stated by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Maxim Topilin in Sochi at the forum “Healthy Society. On the Way to 80+".
According to him, since 2020, 2 billion rubles will be allocated to the long-term care system in the regions. “This is a quite significant sum. We will be able to provide a system primarily for the identification of older people needs,” TASS cites his words.
The project to create a long-term care system is implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation in partnership with the “Starost V Radost” Foundation and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The work of the system consists in identifying citizens whom the system did not identify before, typing (developing a program for state bodies working with people) and organizing services for persons with functional deficiencies.
The development of the system began in April 2018, and the pilot project started in July in six subjects: Ryazan, Tula, Pskov, Novgorod, Kostroma and Volgograd regions.
According to the plan, in the second year of the pilot project, the number of regions will increase to 12, and in the third to 18 subjects.
