9 meters of bedding rock are flooded in Sibay quarry

UFA, 18 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. According to the plan, flooding works are underway in the Sibay quarry. Currently, the flooding point is recorded at 540 meters, 9 meters of the bedding rock are flooded. This was reported today at a briefing session in the Government by the head of Sibay Rustem Afzalov.

According to him, UGOK (Uchalinsky Mining Plant) brought the level of water supply to 10 thousand cubic meters per day; lime is delivered to reduce the concentration of sulfur dioxide.

“According to the plan, it was 1600 tons. Then it was decided to increase it to 2 thousand tons. Favorable weather conditions for the procedures are expected this week. The maximum permissible concentrations are not exceeded”, said the mayor.

Earlier, the technical director of the plant, Ilyas Akhmedyanov, told the Bashinform News Agency that the two-kilometer open-pit mine with a diameter and a depth of 500 meters would be flooded by 100 meters, another 60 meters – is designed for the bottom. Water is taken from underground sources, from natural water inflow, and the neighboring Kamagan open pit. According to the preliminary data, waterlogging will be finished before March 20.
