17 solar-powered traffic lights will be installed in Bashkiria

In 2019, 17 solar-powered traffic lights will be installed in Bashkortostan. In total, 30 traffic lights are being mounted in the republic. This was reported by the regional State Committee For Transport And Road Facilities.

“The solar cell generates electricity and accumulates it in the installed battery in the daytime. These reserves are used for the work of traffic lights at night. The use of new LED traffic lights will reduce energy consumption and operating costs for equipment maintenance”, explained the experts.

It should be noted that in 2018, in November-December, 15 such traffic lights were installed near schools and kindergartens, another one - at a busy intersection in the village of Krasnaya Gorka.
