Bashkiria Ministry of Health plans to transport road accidents victims by helicopters

In the eight zones of Bashkortostan, helicopter pads will be prepared for quick evacuation and delivery of people injured in road accidents. Rafael Yapparov, First Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkortostan, at a meeting of the Committee for Housing Policy and Infrastructure Development of the State Assembly, said that the department planned to complete this work in 2020. According to him, this will allow to deliver the victims of road accidents to trauma centers in a short time and reduce the number of fatalities.
In 2018, 511 people died in road accidents, 370 of them before the arrival of the ambulance, 117 people died in hospitals. A total of 4911 people were injured in accidents last year, of which 3037 were hospitalized.
To provide medical care to victims with traumas and neurosurgical issues, six first level trauma centers, 18 - second level and 44 third level trauma centers operate in the republic. Clear routing of patients is organized. Today more than 300 emergency first aid brigades work on the roads of the republic, which can reach road accident sites within 20 minutes.
However, it often happens that there are problems with mobile communication quality in many areas. The committee members made a proposal to invite representatives of mobile operators to one of the meetings to tell about their investment plans for improving the signal quality in their networks in Bashkiria.
