Authorities plan to suspend drilling reagents plant operation in Sibay

In Sibay, the authorities ordered to suspend temporarily the drilling reagent plant operation until filters would be installed to trap the specific odors emitted during the production. It was announced at a briefing session by the head of the city administration Rustem Afzalov.

According to residents, the smell of roasted seeds spreads from the activities of the drilling reagents plant.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, at the end of December last year, the bailiffs of the Sibaysky city department of the Federal Bailiff Service Directorate closed the enterprise for 90 days, since the court found it guilty of violating the rules for protecting the atmospheric air. Carbon monoxide fraction was exceeded more than four times. The management of the enterprise was ordered to eliminate the violations. On January 23, the plant resumed its work.

It is supposed that the smell, which residents continue to complain about, appears as a result of lignosulfonate drying, a product of technological processing of wood raw materials. Rustem Afzalov instructed the plant management to suspend this process and install within ten days cascade water filters to purify evaporation products.
