New "smart" stops will be installed in Ufa this summer

This summer, new “smart” stops will be installed in Ufa. During this and next years it is planned to renovate about 200 bus stops in the city. Today, an interactive bus stop pavilion and a newly designed bus were presented to the Acting Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov.

According to Timur Mukhametyanov, the chairman of the Bashkir State Committee for Transport and Road Facilities, it is planned to purchase 250 new large capacity buses in the region in 2019-2020. One hundred eighty-three small class buses will be replaced by medium ones. 16 buses of the middle class have been already purchased. All of them will be decorated in a single color scheme - the “Bashkir Tricolor”.

A single transport card will operate in all types of transport in the city. At the first stage, all state carriers, Bashavtotrans, MUET, electric transport, and then private carriers will be involved in the process.

Bus stop pavilions will be equipped with USB ports for charging gadgets, information boards: passengers will be able to see the time of buses and trolley buses arrival. Also, the new “smart” stops will be equipped with a video surveillance system and the “panic buttons” to call the police to ensure safety in transport and in the streets. It is planned to equip the pavilions with free Wi-Fi and route maps.
