Opinion: on student motivation and modern school curriculum digitalization

Speaking about modern school education in Bashkiria, first of all, we should take care of staff training. “We should start training teachers to work with children in a creative atmosphere,” says Marina Nasyrova, head of the School of Programming and Digital Creativity in Ufa. Now, according to her, the majority of teachers are inundated with paperwork and “they just have no time to be engaged in creativity”.

“Perhaps the transition to a five-day school week will indeed somehow relieve our teachers, and they will have time for creative communication with children,” Marina Nasyrova believes. “As a result, schoolchildren will be more involved in the educational process and will become more active.”

As an experiment, the speaker of the First School Education Forum «Vzletai!», which took place recently in Ufa, proposes to introduce programming lessons in the primary school of the republic.

“There is such a program called Scratch. In fact, this is such a “Lego” for programming. Pupils can create games in different formats, strategies, and even make homework in mathematics and the environment with its help. Such a project was launched very successfully in the Republic of Belarus, and has already become mandatory for Belarusian schoolchildren,” Marina Nasyrova shares the experience of neighboring states. “This is the way how to apply digital technology in the education system.
