New program to provide medical care to patients with eye disease is launched in Bashkiria

UFA, 4 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Ministry of Health of Bashkiria has launched a new program for conducting free surgical treatment of patients with eye diseases. The main goal of the program is to provide surgical ophthalmological assistance to residents of districts and cities locally, and high-tech accessibility in ophthalmic surgery for residents of remote areas.
“Now, residents of the republic will not have to travel long distances, for example, to the cities of Ufa, Orenburg, Izhevsk, Cheboksary — the leading ophthalmic surgeons of the Eye Institute will come to them by themselves and conduct surgeries.
The trips will be carried out to the cities of Sibay, as well as Sterlitamak, Beloretsk, Belebei, Meleuz, Yanaul, Tuymazy, Ishimbay, Uchaly and the Salavat district, where free surgical treatment will be provided to all those in need from both the local and neighboring districts the regional Ministry of Health informs.
The first such trip took place to the Maloyaz Central District Hospital, where 50 people had surgeries for free from January 28 to January 29. On January 30-31, the institute's ophthalmic surgeon visited an operating room of the Belebey Central District Hospital.
The next visit of specialists is scheduled for February 4-8 in the city of Sterlitamak, where a group of eye surgeons will stay for a week.
